Photoshop and Premiere June 14, 2008 drewsky (Michigan, USA) I have read many reviews on how this combo might not work well on vista and other negative reviews. I have been using premiere now for a month. I am running it on a Quad Core Q6600, Windows Vista Business 64 bit, 4 Gigs of RAM, with a 8800GTS. I have had very few problems. I have had premiere crash and close a couple times, but nothing major. I really enjoy the new interface the program has that allows you to have a windows movie maker type look. That layout is great for simple movies. You will need a lot of RAM, but that is nothing new to the video editing industry. For utilization of the Quad core, while it is compiling the project, it is averaging around 70% on each core. I think this is a major improvement over Premiere 2. I enjoy the Photoshop and have not had a problem with it at all. I highly recommend this product and if you're in doubt, get the demo from the Adobe website.
Still learning , but so far very happy. June 9, 2008 JMM I'm a novice with this program, and just bought my first DSLR about 3 months ago, so I'm probably taking advantage of about >1% of this software. But, with my limited time using it, it's been fun and seems like a great way to learn more about the basics of photo editing, and offers some very user friendly features. I also have a Canon High Def Camcorder tht I bought about a year ago, that records onto HD MiniDV tapes. I have heard Elements will let you work with that format, although I'm not sure how much? I haven't even used Premiere yet, just elements, but I'm sure it will be fun and I'll learn some more great photo/video uses!
Great product... Wish that I had it for my own use. June 7, 2008 Wilbur Lidzy (Guatemala Central America) I purchased this for my daughter. It is the best decision I made. I wish that I had it for my own self. I am still using version 3 of premier and 5 of photoshop. If you are wanting to launch in the world of photo, graphics or video ediing. This is the first place you should start. All of the power and all of the tools to begin. Don't jump in the deep water until you learn to wade in the shallow water. Makes sense to me.
Pay your money, take your chances!!! June 4, 2008 Bo Ray (Biloxi, Miss.) 1 out of 3 found this review helpful
I am SICK of paying good money for software that doesn't work! Lately I've been using several slide show creators to get a feel for what I wanted. I've used Windows Movie Maker, Ulead Picture Show and Wondershare DVD Slide Show Builder. All of these worked flawlessly but none had ALL the features I wanted in one piece of software. These also are all fairly cheap programs so I figured I'd spring for the "good stuff" and buy the Adobe product. What a mistake! $120 down the drain! Constant freezes and lock ups. I've yet to actually burn a DVD due to the crashes and freezes. Why on earth should I continue to buy name brand software when free or low buck programs do a better job? Some folks seem to be able to use this product without a hitch and others, like myself, have untold problems. Whether this program will work for you seems to be a hit or miss proposition so you must ask yourself... Is it worth risking $120 for a product that MAY work when numerous other products that DO work are available for a fraction of the price??? I will no longer buy any software that doesn't offer a free trial period; if they want my business they'll have to show me their product works first. I guess it goes without saying I'm now done with Adobe!
Excellent Product - Well worth the money June 4, 2008 Lori Conrad 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Using Photoshop Elements I was able to create the perfect shot. This is exactly what I have been searching for I can easily edit out parts of a picture or change group shots so that they are perfect. Premiere Elements was a great companion product and without reading directions I was able to create a DVD slideshow with music and titles in 2 hours. Enhancing the video was easy and fun and I was able to improve on the first cut by clicking on beats and had pictures changing to the music. It was easy to fade in and out songs as I wanted I totally recommend this product for anyone who wants to do a little bit more than average with your pictures. I've had it a few weeks and I'm loving finding all the features.
