5 out of 5 stars Give me Freedom ... not "Freedom Fries"   July 15, 2008

The time has come to act on these words. The Constitution was written to limit the powers of government, for its authors knew well that absolute power corrupts absolutely, and as Thomas Paine once wrote, government was a "punisher" to free society.

No doubt many expected this book to be the bible of civil disobedience. Instead it is a stark look into the political soul of America: What she was, what she is now and what she could be again.Congressman Paul writes with clear, measured words and in no uncertain terms unmasks the reality of today's "Democracy".

The "Manifesto" is of course the Constitution and the course of action is so simple and so pure you will wonder how we ever strayed so far in the first place. Paul talks about foreign entanglements, Congress's abdication of its duty, concentration of executive power, and how government intervention galore is stifling most small businesses producing results counter productive to liberty and wealth.

Perhaps the most shocking is that US laws are being rewritten to accommodate International Organizations such as the WTO, in complete disregard for our own Constitution. The examples in the book go on and on.

For those who say Ron Paul's ideas aren't `practical' - they should be the ones reading this book. This is Ron Paul's gift to us for it will surely propagate thinking in this direction and hopefully sometime in the near future America will once again have a REAL President that is for the people, and not some compromised thinking flunky who is foisted upon the unsuspecting public by the mainstream media and beholden to the corporate and shadow powers.

    God Bless America

5 out of 5 stars A manifesto to end our decline   July 14, 2008

Think Ron Paul is crazy? Then go ahead, read this book and find a single sentence that doesn't make good sense! Ron Paul's policies, if implemented, would not be about creating a "libertopia." They would not take away our security or protections from exploitation. Rather, they would guarantee our liberty, save the United States from the economic failings caused by our empire, and transform our image around the world. He might just end terrorism as we know it! So go ahead, read this book, and get involved in politics. Be the change you want to see in this country!

    5 out of 5 stars Libertarians   July 14, 2008

Even if you do not have a Libertarian leaning philosophy this is a good book to read. It is short and concise. It is about how less government in our affairs would dramatically help our lives and living. Our government is now to large and unmanageable. Read it to find a way to find a lease on life.

    5 out of 5 stars FREEDOM!!!   July 13, 2008

"The Revolution" is all I expected it to be.

It tells exactly how and what America should be, and how it should continue - a land where freedom is treasured and free will is a right, instead of what it has, and is still becoming - a prison for passive slaves.

5 out of 5 stars A breath of fresh air that clears the mind.   July 11, 2008

This book provides great insight on the federal governments sytematic abuses of personal freedom and liberty. After reading this book I am much wiser now to the false choices that are offered to the people. Ron Paul is a brilliant man, who has a vision that is consistent with that of The Founding Forefathers. That is a vision of what "freedom and liberty" truely are.

    Thank you Dr. Paul
