So far so good August 30, 2010 Brian from AZ 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I have had this computer for about 8 months. It has performed flawlessly. I was a little worried at first because I never bought a computer from Amazon, but they delivered it in great time and shape. I have nothing negative to say. The touch screen is fun, but it does leave finger prints, that's the worst thing I can think of. It is fast and I have had no problems connecting to wi-fi and bluetooth. I love that there are no wires accept for the power plug. It really cleans up the work area. Great product so far, as I said, so far so good!
DO NOT BUY July 28, 2010 Kyle C. Abt 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
THIS IS THE WORST PC I HAVE EVER BOUGHT. I PURCHASED IT TWO MONTHS AGO AND IT IS ALREADY TO SLOW TO RUN PROGRAMS. AND TO TOP IT ALL OFF YOU CANT UPGRADE THE VIDEO CARD SO THAT YOU CAN. IT IS WELDED TO THE MOTHERBOARD. DO NOT PURCHASE THESE COMPUTERS. THE WINDOWS 7 IS ALSO NOT MADE FOR A TOUCH COMPUTER SO IT DOESNT EVEN WORK WELL. THIS COMPUTER SUCKS!!!!! TRUST ME, I WASTED MY $900. DONT DO IT TO YOURSELF
Pretty Good April 5, 2010 Riggster (TN) 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
Unit works OK, good picture w/ TV or internet, however, it is not a green product. If I don't shut it off it goes on & off all by itself day & night, the screen is so bright, which uses a lot of power. It makes a humming noise which is a problem since it's in my bedroom. I also have the larger model & it has the same problems even when I turn off the wireless mouse as indicated by HP. The touch screen doesn't work well, I just use the mouse. Overall I'd buy it again because I don't see any better units on the market.
This was absolutely worth the money February 28, 2010 Melissa Carson (New York & North Carolina) 2 out of 4 found this review helpful
I'm a mac person but I needed to test a touch screen computer for an expo where we will be using 27 of them. I absolute love this one, it almost makes having a PC okay.
So far so good, not entirely convinced yet February 18, 2010 Paul Handsome (Brazil) 6 out of 7 found this review helpful
I've had the Touchsmart for over a month now and while do not regret settling for the AMD version, I sure would have liked the Intel one (pricier). The Touchsmart software doesn't run smoothly, it takes a while to load and sometimes does not work. The first days it would simply not work at all, but after I did a software update thru HP's system doctor suite, it improve, but still freezes sometimes.
In general, it's is not as the simulated images on TV or You Tube, it takes a while to load each program (videos, music, photos, canvas, etc) specially those media relates like music and photos (which was the whole idea of having the media computer after all). Once it's loaded it's fun to play with, to be fair.
My wife is satisfied with it, as her Photoshop and Illustrator run much better here than in the 6 year old computer that we had and the 21" LCD screen is beautiful and larger compared to our old CRT 15" monitor, plus the touch feature, which she really doesn't use.
I haven't been able to make it work with my LAN cable from the router, it is only using the wireless connection and somehow I think it could be faster if accessing the Internet through the cable, just a thought, probably wrong.
Windows 7 looks pretty much the same as Vista, which I have been using at the office for 2 years. But my Intel Centrino Toshiba Portege surely performs better.
Conclusion, I am glad I bought it, technology works great, sounds very good too, visual is a plus, much better than what I used to have at home, however, would like to confirm whether the 23" (which I don't) Intel version (Touchsmart 600) is worth the extra $500.
Will tell you more in a couple of months.
