| Editorial Reviews:
Amazon.com Review Steinberg's Get it on CD 2.0 offers an all-in-one solution for digital audio editing and CD burning. With a clean, no-nonsense interface, simple controls, and a low learning curve, the ability to tweak custom audio creations and preserve the sounds on CD is a breeze. With that said, only those who plan on editing sound files before burning CDs should consider this package. Those looking for a one-click CD-creation program may find the enhanced features a bit too distracting for their needs. When the program launches, an assistant dialog box offers four choices: create an audio CD, create a data/mixed media CD, grab audio from a CD, or convert files to MP3 or Windows Media Audio (WMA) file format. The audio CD-creation mode offers the best and worst attributes of a combined audio file editor and CD burner. In many CD burning programs, loading playlists and kick-starting the burning process takes only moments. When one adds files into the playlist window in Get it on CD, each track is automatically loaded into a WAV editor window, meaning you must wait for each waveform to load, whether or not you plan on editing the files. If you're simply duplicating a CD, the wait is not a welcome one. On the other hand, adding fades, tweaking volume levels, and applying a myriad of effects is incredibly easy and nicely handled by the program. The range of clear, natural-sounding effects includes chorus, echo, reverb, time stretch, pitch shifting, and quite a few others, all easily applied in real time. Transferring files to MP3 or WMA format is as simple as it should be, rounding out an impressive music-processing package. As mentioned, if you're looking for a no-hassle, one-click CD-burning program, you may want to search elsewhere. After all, no use letting all of the music processing power offered in this program go to waste. --Eric Twelker
