Great For All Ages! July 9, 2008 Lisanne Anderson (Sequim, WA) I bought this to help me with my Medical Transcription schooling. It did that and now my kids are learning to type with it too. They play it before their non-educational games! It's a REALLY great product!
Trouble with screen size June 26, 2008 Joan (Nazareth, PA) 0 out of 2 found this review helpful
I purchased the Mavis Beacon(Version 17) to increase my typing speed. I don't bother using it much because I have to change the pixel size of my screen to make it small enough to fit. Then the appearance is a little too small for my liking. After my lesson, I have to change the pixel size back again. As a result, I don't bother using it much. Fortunately, I also purchased Typing Instructor Deluxe (Version 17) and I am very happy with it! It is easy to navigate, has very pleasant graffics, lots of variety and features, and loaded up perfectly (Win XP Home). Typing Instructor Deluxe has everything you need and is fun, too!
the best June 18, 2008 Israel Gamino (CA) the program is very simple to use and is loaded with features an excellent buy.....
fantastic product April 15, 2008 Bear (USA) This is truly a fantastic product. I paid little attention to typing class in high school, and, hence, took very little from it. I know that what I'm about to say sounds rather infomercial-ish, but it's with Mavis Beacon that I really learned how to type. Now, for those that cannot type as of yet, it needs to be said that speed is something that comes with time (as with most other things). Mavis Beacon does help you get there, only as long as you're consistent with using the program. There's really not much else I can say. The program is great and also lots of fun to use.
Don't Buy This If You're Just Learning To Type March 21, 2008 D. Burket (Atlanta GA USA) 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
This is a terrible product. The navigation is awful. If you repeat lessons over, it will count them as if you took additional new learning lessons and then skip over those lessons it thinks you took when you were practicing old lessons over. Once it has "advanced" you to a new level, whether you took the lessons or not, there is no going back. The only way to get to the lessons it skipped over is to start over from the beginning again. If you need more practice that it allows before advancing you, you will be miserable with this product and the lack of ability to navigate and go back and repeat lessons. I wasted my money on this and am now searching for another typing program that is better, more flexible, and less frustrating to use.
