I tried this game for my son (11), and although graphically it is impressive, the vehicles seem to be very hard to control. Perhaps I didn't spend enought time with it, or don't have a good enough joy stick (I use the Microsoft Sidewinder). It does have very nice graphics though.

5 out of 5 stars Rollcage Smokes them all!   June 19, 2000

This is the best high action game I have ever seen! INTENSE is an understatement. Get going and you won't want to stop. The Better your graphics card the better the action. Either way this is a MUST HAVE.

5 out of 5 stars Put this one in your Rolling Cage (shopping cart)!   December 22, 1999

If you've read the editorial reviews, I can attest that there is no exaggeration there. Roll Cage is an intense, adrenaline pumping, hold your breath, white knuckle, speed demon. I can't believe how fast it is on my P166 w/3D card. Even though Star Wars Pod Racer boasts speeds of 600mph, Roll Cage is the king when it comes to the real feel for blistering, blow your hair off, speed. At full throttle with a speed power up it's a real challenge to keep this baby under control.

I'm just as enthusiastic about the graphics, sound, and weapon effects as the editorial reviewers are. And all this on a P166... I still can't believe it!

Now the year is 2005 (Oct) and "Rollcage" will seem a bit outdated to todays' gamers. Also, it's almost impossible to find a copy. However, it still holds up well on systems that will run it smoothly. Today, my speed fix is well satisfied by "Trackmania Sunrise" and "Flatout". Although, these speed demons don't employ weapons as "Rollcage", you'll still find some satisfying destruction in "Flatout"'s demolition derby tracks and the weird, off the hook driver ejections where you purposfully launch your avatar from the vehicle to land on various targets. Be prepared to catch some MAJOR air in "Trackmania Sunrise" ...take your dramamine before you get in the car.
