    5 out of 5 stars VIRTUAL VILLAGERS-THE LOST CHILD   August 30, 2008
    GRANDMA (PRINCETON NEW JERSEY)
This game is not as easy as the first one. I am on my 4th start over! All my villagers died! I am enjoying the challenge. I am glad that I bought this game.
It starts out with only 7 people and most of them are children so they can't work. So there is your challenge.

After downloading the demo for Virtual Villagers; The Lost Children, I knew I had to have it and immediately started looking for a CD copy of the full game since I prefer physical media. The game itself is deceptively simple, and very hard to put down, yet because of the game's ability to advance itself even when you're not playing, you can still walk away from it to attend to your life. (This is optional, you can also pause the game.)The gameplay is easy to pick up on, the goals are well-defined and interesting, and the little villagers are totally dependent on your nurturing, yet fully functional in their roles. The only flaw I found is that once you have taken your tribe through the sixteen puzzles and researched all tech to the highest level, there really isn't anything else to do. Conclusion:a lot of fun while it lasts, and may be the kind of game you pick up during a dull moment at work or home but I wouldn't expect to be playing it forever. With that said, the price is about right for what you're getting and the game is quite enjoyable.

5 out of 5 stars More Fun Than the Original   May 27, 2008
    Glorious Gal (Ontario, Canada)
Although I enjoyed Virtual Villagers, I was quite pleasantly suprised to see all the improvements in this second story and rate this as quite entertaining.

It is based on the premise that there is a band of lost children on the other side of Isola, the island, as introduced in the original Virtual Villagers game. They are accidently discovered by two individuals. It is definitely not a carbon copy of the original. New challenges, more things for the children to collect and earn "tech" points that are used to purchase more skills.

This game is fun! Again not a shoot 'em up, wild ride game, it will not interest those people who want non stop action. So don't buy it if that is what you are looking for. If you want a game that makes you use your mind to come up with solutions without having to resort to "tips, tricks, and cheats", you should find this game up to the challenge.

I am still playing it and anticipating a third Virtual Villagers game!
