Rail Simulator works as described. I spent many hours learning operations and driving the trains.
Railsimulator not so difficult after all October 30, 2008 Gulf St Vincent (Adelaide SA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Railsimulator has been out for 12 months, so I thought I would buy it hoping that some of the earlier reported bugs are now fixed. To my delight, they have been fixed and the sim was very easy to install and run. To get the most out of the sim you need to register at the RS web site where there is a wealth of helpful advice to get started plus the added bonus of free downloads which include rolling stock, scenarios and fixes and upgrades to make the sim very stable with nice fluid graphics. Also available at the RS site are links to other sites where you can obtain more free stuff and of course payware addons. Overall I am very happy with sim and consider it to be exceptional value.

Memory hog, no fun September 8, 2008 T. Keefe 0 out of 2 found this review helpful
After taking forever to load, Rail Simulator never worked properly on our PC. My sons proclaimed it a dud. It's already become Tag Sale fodder in our house.
rail simulatro September 5, 2008 A. Bryson (Lexington, KY United States) Unless you have a game system that is in excess of all the recommended requirements don't bother with this software. It eats up the memory and needs the fastest system you can afford. It could be good if you want to take the time, but its requires a true gaming computer to run right.
