Pretty useful June 25, 2008 Tyler 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
When I first picked this up at the store for about 5 dollars or so, I didn't have very high hopes for the content. However, I was pleasantly surprised when I came across the intermediate section of the software, and I really have been learning a lot from this program. The main thing with this program is that you must take the time to learn. I personally take about an hour per lesson after work (if I feel like it) taking time to repeat, listen, and learn. My favorite part is at the end where you play a type of "Go-Fish" with the words and phrases you've just learned. I must say, if you go through this program the way it is intended, and really want to learn some Spanish, the 5 bucks is worth it. :)
Save your money on this one June 25, 2007 Jake (Chicago) 7 out of 7 found this review helpful
I picked this CD-Rom up at a local Office store - verison 9.5 mostly b/c it was on sale - but I also had a mild interest in learning some spanish and I thought this would be helpful. I decided to give it some dedicated time in which to really use this program - and IMHO - it's nothing more than a glorified dictionary. It has a "FEW" grammer exercises in it and basics like which verbs to use in what situations - but rather than using the computer application to give you a progressive step by step approach to learning spanish it's set up and written more like a spanish / english dictionary. I opened the program 5 or 6 times before I knew where to start - and it makes no sense to me what logic they used in coming up with their brief exercises. Save your money - this one isn't worth the price of the blank CD it's burned on.
