I use this program to make cards. It is very user friendly. Lots more features that I have not used yet but look forward to in the future. A lot of stuff for a very good price too.
Print Artist Platinum 22-a real disappointment April 28, 2008 Robin D. Wood (San Marcos, TX) 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
I have used Print Artist since 1997 and have loved it. It has always been very versatile, easy to use, and had a good selection of clipart. I was extremely disappointed in version 22, now from Nova Development instead of Sierra. At first I thought I had a bad disk, I couldn't get the program to launch at all so I exchanged it. The exchange process was quick & easy with Amazon. After trying the replacement and getting several IT personnel involved we finally gave up and I returned it and we reinstalled the older version. Also, Nova does not support the versions produced by Sierra so I couldn't even access my old files. What a waste of time and effort.
If it isn't 'broke', don't CHANGE it while UPDATING it~ April 27, 2008 PENchanter (Northeast Ohio, U.S.A.) 3 out of 4 found this review helpful
I have been with this particular 'line' of software (Print Artist) since it was named "Instant Artist". I was introduced to it by a friend who was managing a computer lab at a private university. For both of us, it was ~instant love~!! 'IA' had a number of nifty features, and the one *KEY* feature I learned to enjoy was the ability to +LOCK+ a particular 'element' in-place so it could not be accidentally moved when it was not being actively worked on. Enter "Print Artist"... the first real =UPDATE= to 'IA'. The first feature I "instantly" (pun intended) noticed was ''not where it SHOULD be'' was the ability to +LOCK+ down a particular 'element'. It took me some time (yes, there is a ''learning curve'' involved with all Print Artist UPGRADES *sigh*, so many ''arcs'' you can have a mighty-colorful rainbow, by now) to realize 'PA' now used something called _layers_. *boggle* Well, my other favorite software (for graphics editing) is Print Shop Pro... and after figuring this _layered_ thing out with 'PA', my graphical editing hobby has become to much easier while using 'PS-Pro'!! *smile* Some UPDATES are indeed UPGRADES, others are simply DOWN-GRADES... and I am here to tell each and every one who keeps snatching-up the rights to continue 'tinkering' with my beloved software line -- PLEASE STOP GOING BACKWARDS!! I am a long-time fan, and my whole family and friends use it, too. I encourage everyone I meet to use both soft wares I have mentioned in this 'review' in tandem for most of their 'creative' endeavors that involve digital graphics and making others smile/laugh/etc. Your best advertising is WORD-OF-MOUTH, not web-site ads! And I have used the World Wide Web to spread my list of desired *and* undesired softwares since the 'WWW's inception... and *before* that, the 'IRC' and other instant messaging softwares. The two reviews I read here, thus far, do not make me *WANT* to update my "v15.0" (why the deal is with these messed-up version numbers/metal names, I am at a loss! ) of this software. Basic features are: # 1 : importing standardized graphic formats like *.bmp, *.gif & *.jpg. Do permissions to do so cost so much with the copyright holders? Is that the issue? C'mon now. # 2 : independently 'locking down' elements when not actively editing them # 3 : a decent graphics library that isn't over-filled with Sunday morning newspaper-style looking images # 4 : ability to work on custom 'projects', say a "birthday", or a "graduation"... and be able to select which documents we have personally created/last edited (from pre-fab. selections) and saved as part of our custom 'projects' from a menu # 5 : imported graphics 'transparency' -- a glaring omission since the beginning! *argh* # 6 : and the list could go on, but it is time to hear from others. *wink* Take Care, and if you are interested in this software, folks... know three things: A: this price isn't *THAT* great ($60? c'mon) B: this software is *NOT* meant for the demands of a moderate-to-advanced graphics designer/planner/user/etc. C: and last, but not least, I simply cannot help it, I still love this program - I simply won't waste my money on buying the latest version... THANKS FOR THE TIP-OFF! *warm smile*

The Print Artist program is ok. I find it to be more complicated then the older version I had on my computer but at the same time I find it has more graphics though they are more cartoonish then the version I had. The option of using your own graphics is nice but you have to save them in a photo file or adobe file on your computer. The version I had you could just add them to the programs library of graphics which eliminated having to retrieve your graphics from another source. Overall you have to get used to using this program since it is different from the versions of years gone by.
