Buggy garbage misrepresented as enterprise security April 16, 2008 D. Hines I bought this because I needed malware protection that would run on Windows Server 2003. The price was right - eighty-five bucks for a five user license. But I guess you get what you pay for. I installed this on three different Windows 2003 server machines, and it crashed two of the three. Had to yank the power plug on one to get it to reboot - seemed to work OK after that. The other machine was so hosed up I couldn't even uninstall the Symantec software - will probably wind up reloading it completely. It's hard to believe that a supposedly reputable company like Symantec would release such a messed-up product, particularly as an enterprise-class solution. The place I work is in the process of switching over from Symantec to Trend Micro, and after this I can understand why.
Poor performing product and customer service February 27, 2008 O. Sandkuehler After installing this product (10 user version), our little corporate network got corrupted: Windows Server 2003 would not be accessible over the network any more. Symantec had an old fix for that - half a year older than when I bought the product, and still the fix was not implemented in the installation package. Shame on them. All clients experienced problems with the local NIS software as well. Outlook crashed often. Microsoft Visual C++ Debug Library errors. I contacted Symantec - I never received a response I do NOT recommend this product
