 WARNING - This "gem" does not run on Windows XP October 20, 2008

I was delighted to find this little gem of a "living history" CD for our study of the decades of the 20th Century - until I tried to actually use it. No matter how "compatible" the CD claims to be, it does not run on Windows XP - even after several frustrating hours of tracking down and applying all of the various fixes provided somewhere by DK.
I've been unable to find any other equivalent product and would instead recommend LIFE: Our Century in Pictures for Young People for classroom use.

I wouldn't give up my CD of 20th Century Day by Day for anything. It is loaded with videos, images, sound bites, biographies. It sums up in short videos the main events of the 20th century from wars to space exploration to the industrial revolution..etc.
Sure you can find a product that gives more detail on any single subject but you'd be hard pressed to find a single CD/DVD or even a single book that sums up so much scope of information into one product AND still manages to make it super fun to browse through.
This CD has made me fall in love with history and understand the world that we live in in a whole new light. It's made me a better citizen of the world.
