This is a TERRIBLE program. I got it for my daughter, expecting a fun way for her to learn letters and sounds and simple reading skills -well, based on the fact that this was a PHONICS program! I also expected that she would be able to play it on her own to some degree, since they claim "Easy enough for kids to use alone". Silly me. NONE of these expectations were fulfilled. I don't know who made this program, but it certainly wasn't someone who had bothered to interest themselves in how children learn to read. Basically, the only thing my daughter can do in this program alone is the alphabet section, which will speak a letter if you click on it. From there on out, everything requires that your child can already read, or at least really knows the sounds each letter makes. Since there is no section which teaches these sounds, it doesn't make any sense at all. If you make a mistake, instead of any help, you get a loud, rather shocking buzzer noise. If you can imagine the deep buzzer sound equivalent of someone shouting "WRONG!!!" at you, then you know what faces any little kids who play this game not already knowing their phonics. And since anyone who DOES know letter sounds and simple reading will find this a very boring, primitive program, then what you get is essentially ten dollars down the drain. My daughter was bored with the alphabet section and in tears at the rest. AVOID!!!!
