5 out of 5 stars Learning with Mickey, Tigger, and Pooh!   December 12, 2007

My 4 year old sat down for the first time with this software at 3PM this past Saturday afternoon, and aside for a quick break for dinner (which was wolfed down because she wanted to get back to her "'puter"), she played non-stop until past 8PM.

Learning her numbers, addition, phonics, grammar, following instructions (Tigger's Treasure Hunt is great!)...you name it. I can't think of a single problem with this software. There are even 3 levels of difficulty within most of the games.

Was not as impressed with the Mickey Mouse disk, but only one real quibble, really. On the spash screen where you can choose what game to play, the Pooh Bear disk says what each game is when you hover your mouse over it...so you know what it is even if you're pre-reading. The Mickey Mouse game does not. The rest was just fine...and fine-tuning her listening/observation skills with the bell-hop game (hotel guests call the front desk asking for a bell-hop with blue pants, bowtie and no hat, and you have to choose the right bell-hop from what looks like the Goof Troop) is a WELL thought out game.

Am DEFinitely recommending it to anyone with a 3-5 year old.

2 out of 5 stars Okay as games go   August 24, 2005

This game is okay as games go. It is a little advanced for my 3yo to play alone. We also had lots of trouble installing it. I finally learned that with these types of programs on XP I have to just run the play.exe file. There is not a lot of variety in the activities, but the pictures are cute, and My 3yo can answer most of the activities and we can play the game together until she learns better mouse skills.

But I was not impressed at all and my 2 1/2 year old son was not interested.

    2 out of 5 stars disappointing   September 2, 2004

We bought this mostly because our 15 month old has Jumpstart Toddler and we (parents) are sick of the same music over and over again (though she loves Jumpstart Toddler!)

Unfortunately, this (Disney) is a major disappointment. Issues we have/had include:
    1) CD required in drive to play game. Who in their right mind thinks it's a good idea to require the CD for toddlers??? My daughter had the CD popped out 4 times just the first time trying this program. (and crashed the system 3 of those times) I mucked with the registry and .ini files but was unable to get it to load without requiring the CD.

    2) toddler needs good mouse skills. Most everything is mouse driven, and while some keyboard strokes did something, navigating required the mouse.

    3) large delays loading games, breaks in voices. Since everything comes from the CD, there are large breaks in the game while loading animations, including breaks in voice over in the middle of sentences. Very choppy. (PII-300, plenty fast for other games - and old enough that I don't mind the toddler playing with it)

    4) no immediate reaction to keystrokes/clicks some times. When the animation sequences are going on, no keystrokes or mouse clicks will do anything. My daughter rapidly lost interest because she'd hit keys and nothing would happen.

    5) while my daughter is young for this game, she was unable to run the program on her own, requiring me to click and navigate. She bored of this very quickly.

On the positive side, she did enjoy a couple of the animated sequences - watching. But I want something for her to participate with, not watch.

    In all, very disappointing.

    2 out of 5 stars Don't believe the box!   August 31, 2004

I purchased this for my 4 year old son after reading on the box that it's compatible with Windows XP. My son picked it out himself and was very excited to get home and play it. He enjoyed the games very much, but my husband became so irritated having to fix the computer every time these games screwed it up that he banned them from the computer. I no longer had the receipt. What a waste of money. I even tried running them as compatible by changing the settings...Windows XP wasn't even LISTED. But they listed it on the box?! Thanks a lot, Disney, for letting me and my son down horribly. I am now very leary when it comes to buying software from them.
