Excellen training tool for experienced players December 14, 2004 Igor Khmelnitsky (Philadelphia) 8 out of 9 found this review helpful
This is an excellent training tool for players of over 1500 USCF. General comment on Endgame Training: Mastering the Endgame consists of fast and accurate recognition of standard endgame positions (setups), knowledge of common endgame strategies and ability to calculate. Your training should be split in two parts - theoretical and practical. Initially, the bulk of your training should be done using various books, suitable for your level. When you feel that your "knowledge database" is sufficient, start using this tool. If you run into subjects where you fill not adequately prepared, go back to the books. This tool is ideal for practicing! I use this software regularly so do most of my students. In my new book "Chess Exam and Training Guide: Rate Yourself and Learn How to Improve", I provide more information on how to use this tool as well as how to identify other suitable products for your training. Good luck! Copyrighted by me!
