Could be better November 16, 2008 Renee (NJ) I found this software to be confusing. It does help you memeorize words fast however it will show pictures with the words in Russian and you have no idea exactly what it says. For example, there is a picture of a boy sitting on top of a picnic table with the words in Russian. You don't know if it is saying- boy on table or boy on picnic table or boy sitting on table. You have no idea. It is not clear enough. So I found it very frusterating.
I Love Rosetta Stone July 12, 2008 Martin J. Nemiroff (Sonoma California) 1 out of 4 found this review helpful
The product came quickly and was everything I had hoped for. It installed easily on my computer and was very high quality instruction.
Not worth the money July 4, 2008 Kathleen Meyer (Wilmington, NC) 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
I am very disappointed with this program. I received it today and just went through the first lesson. Maybe the idea of "total immersion" will work, but I found it extremely frustrating because in the very FIRST introduction lesson, they 'trick' you with subtle changes in the language (e.g. you may get 'boy eats' correct, but then they throw in 'boys eat' in the same screen. Way too advanced for a level one program). And after reading the review about the terrible customer service, I am even more discouraged, as Rosetta Stone promises a money-back guarantee if not satisfied. Well, I'm ready to send this back immediately, and I certainly hope they honor their guarantee. A much better program, for ten times less the price is "Talk Now!". I gave Rosetta Stone's program a two-star rating because I've used it in two other languages and did not encounter the same frustration. Otherwise I would rate it one star (or no star at all). It is way too expensive for what it delivers.

This is a good product. I have been learning very quickly. The downside of the Rosetta Stone is that it does not have direct translations. I think translations would help with the grammar rules. Overall this is a good product just buy a dictionary to go with it.
Staggeringly bad customer service mars product June 17, 2008 Language Learner (Virginia, United States) 7 out of 8 found this review helpful
The installation did not go as smoothly as I had hoped -- my call to customer support went unanswered but I managed to figure everything out. I loved using the product - would have forgotten all about the installation concerns and given the product five stars . . . until I ran into some defective pages -- specifically no audio on pages where there is supposed to be audio. I contacted customer service and received absolutely NO response.
