| Features:
| • | Go with the flow-How do you want to snag? Are you all about capture-capture-capture? Capture-edit-capture-edit? Or a simple capture-send? However you want to do it, SnagIt now plays along. The old, linear workflow is gone. You can almost taste the freedom. | | • | Combine images easily-SnagIt makes it easy to combine images. Just drag-and-drop screen captures from the new Open Captures Tray onto the canvas. That's it! | | • | Save nothing...save everything-SnagIt now stores every screen capture automatically. Don't feel any pressure to name the capture or decide where to save it...until you're ready for that kind of commitment. | | • | Find your stuff- If you can remember even one detail—like the approximate date or the Web site you captured—you'll find your capture with a click. SnagIt keeps track of these details, so you don't have to. | | • | Get organized (if you want to)-As you capture images for next month's big project, tag them with "big project" or set the "Important" flag. No need to save anything in folders...just come back next month and view all your big project files with a click! |

Incrediably useful November 30, 2008 mydesygn (grand prairie, tx United States) I love SnagIt. I work as a systems analysis for a healthcare organization. I am constantly teaching users software and troubleshooting issues. A picture (or video) is worth a thousand words. I have used SnagIt since version 7 and initially I was not going to purchase this version because I did not think that there was enough useful new functionality to make it worth my while. But the auto-save feature for captures has made a HUGE difference. I can take multiple captures and not have to worry about stopping and saving each capture. That alone is a timesaver but i can then take those images and annotate them from directly within the preview window. Very often, I capture and annotate and then paste it into an email without ever having to save a file. I also have set up the hotkeys for my most common captures (ie an image to clipboard or an image to printer) then all I have to do is press the key combination in order to perform the capture. I am glad I have purchased the upgrade - it's made my work life easier. I use at home a lot as well. If I see something on the internet that I want tosave then I just capture the page. I don't save it to my favorites anymore - just copy the page and save it into Microsoft's OneNote. Although, images can be tagged and searched from SnagIt if you don't own OneNote.
Great Tool November 28, 2008 Kelvin D. Meeks (Bellevue, WA) Years ago I used a much older version of SnagIt - but a recent writing assignment required capturing quite a few images for a magazine article. I have to say that this is an exceptional tool - highly recommended.
Outstanding Product November 11, 2008 Timothy G. Schmidt (Merrimack, NH) I have only used SnagIt for presentations but I would rate it as a must have for students, engineers and program managers or anyone else who has to create professional looking presentations rapidly from a multitude of sources (e.g. websites, terminal windows, graphics anything you can see on the screen )
Darn Pretty... Darn Slow September 25, 2008 Norcross Steve I so wanted to love the new Snagit 8 was great... took a bit of tweaking but best of the bunch. 9 not so great... beautiful new look but so slow I can eat my lunch before a screen capture pops up. Hopefully a few updates will help this product really shine.
You Should Snag - Snag It! September 18, 2008 Thomas E. Wilson (Neenah, WI USA) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I appreciated the sniping tool in Vista -- but I hated Vista so much I reinstalled XP. So I missed the sniping tool and Googled for a solution and found Snag It! Snag It! is far, far superior to the simpleton tool Microsoft had (SURPRISE. I whole heartly recommend this if you need to send screen shots with comments.
