Customer Reviews:
Why don't developers learn? December 20, 2007 Victoria Ehli (Oregon) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
Why don't developers learn to make things intersting. We already have so much trouble getting the average middle school and high school student studying English, why do we also make them read boring essay's on historical figures? I do appreciate the attempt to look like a video game with plaents etc, and the lessons are clearly writen with multiple choice answers that encourage analysis. However, that is where the good stuff ends. For an ESL or maybe an adult refreshing their grammar this isn't bad, but for the average kid, the essays would put them to sleep. I would love to find a program that has short stories. Something that is fun and exciting. Instead we learn about Clara Barton. Because this program wouldn't interest the average middle schooler or highschooler because of the subject matter in the examples, I have to give it three stars. I would give it fewer but the style of the quiz will prepare them for the ordeals of the SAT's, even if the subjects are boring.
