Tried in every way possible to get even a penny's worth of value from the software. Nope. Nuthin'. Absolutely worthless with NO redeeming values at all. Every single penny I paid for the software was wasted. I am not being overly critical. You can obtain an immense amount of useful information via a Google search along with a few suitable search key words. Why pay money for a software that does not provide ANY useful features?

If you need assistance in understanding your vehicle or figuring out a certain problem, seek out the multitude of message boards that cover specified makes and models and you will likely obtain the information you need... exactly what you will NOT obtain with what is the most useless software I have experience in 11 years of PC computing.

I was considering donating this software to a thrift store. Then, I realized, I would be doing a disservice to humanity. The thrift store typically sells software for $2.99. Even at that price the person buying it would be ripped off!!!! Thus, the only suitable home for this software is the trash can, buried in a landfill for a millenium. Let future archaeologists dig it up to assist in understanding this era. Wait!!!!! If future folks are able to access the program they will believe we were a totally ignorant inane society!!!!! I better smash the CD, rendering it inaccessable before throwing it in the trash.

Be aware that the above comments were toned down. I could not write what I really truly feel about this software due to the possibility that children may read my words. If this was a biker's message board I would unload akin to the broadside of a battleship with 16-inch naval rifles.

If you buy this software thou art a fool and a glutton for punishment, possessing MUCH more money than brains.

    You have been warned!!!!!

Wish I had seen the other reviews here before I purchased this.
Sure, they list 600 vehicles, but the advice is so generic, why bother.
I.E. for changing the air filter on a a 2000 Caravan, they show a picture of a 70 something car and say 'see your owner's manual' Well, duh!
I suppose it might be of some use to the person who would never look under the hood and barely knows the gas pedal from the brake.

Bought primarily to help diagnose the electric door lock system on our Mazda B4000. Very disapointed in the product. Absolutely nothing in the program about the door locks. No wiring diagrams, troubleshooting suggestions, disassembly guides, nothing. Subject is not even listed on the "Perform Diagnosis" dialog box. Very simplistic software provides little or no help. Even wanted to see what it would say about an uphill pinging problem I had in the past that was eventually repaired. Asks very basic questions about octain gas, high altitudes, check the spark plugs, and then leaves you with "problem with the engine timing"!! Obviously! That is what causes an engine ping! No real help AT ALL! Nothing about oxygen sensors, which was my problem. I know almost nothing about fixing a car, but this software is no help to me at all. Bought it last year, and it has done me absulutely no good whatsoever.

This software (from the box) is completely marketed to help solve car problems. States "Find out what's wrong before going to a mechanic", "Troubleshoot Your Car!". It is advertised as troubleshooting software, and I am sorely disapointed in the amount of information it has. They have some periodical quotes that "praise" their software on their website. Somehow, I really doubt that whoever put those words to print actually used this program to try to fix their car! They also have some positive customer quotes on their feedback page. I have no idea how they got those, and how this product actually helped them fix their car!? Those people must have had a flat tire and needed this program to tell them to replace the tire, and also had absolutely no expectations whatsoever for good software and helpful troubleshooting logic. This is nothing greater than common sense put into code, if that much.

Interface is pitiful, I'm sorry to say - but true. I am a database manager / systems analyst. I also dabble in Microsoft OS desktop development. This software represents about as much skill as a highschool graduate who knows a little VB, at most. There are more options in notepad than there is in this program. Nothing to tell you what the toolbar buttons actually do. You have to click on them to find out what they do. Anyone ever heard of "Tooltips" in programming class? The program looks as if it hasn't been updated since it was written for Windows 3.1.

Enough bashing. Truely, they have a GREAT idea. I'm sure they meant to help. They need to keep working on it!! It needs a LOT of improvement. If they can really put a great product together for the purpose of REALLY troubleshooting vehicles, and it REALLY DOES HELP, and REALLY DOES have a LOT of information it (ie: wiring diagrams; pictures of the actual part of my vehicle, and not all pictures of some VW car that I don't own and looks completely different; pictures depicting step-by-step guides to removing door panels, etc to get to the part/piece you are replacing; Truely helpful diagnostics that really do help fix a problem instead of saying "there is a problem with the engine timing"), then they'd have a great corner of the market. The oportunity is immense. Everyone has cars, everyone has car problems, everyone has bugdet problems, few people have the resources to pay a garage let alone a dealer for repairs, and everyone wants to find a less expensive way to fix their own vehicle. BUT, they're going to have to do a LOT better than this to make money off of that target audience! This product is no better than any of the $5 game disks you can pick up off of the discount bargain rack at the PC store. If they really want to make a splash, they need something that can compete with the $200, $300 packages next to Microsoft, Adobe, and Corel, but is affordable enough for the folks trying to save money on car repairs. There must be a much better guarantee that your customer will find the answers they are looking for in that celephane-wrapped box.

To quote they're own product's common advise, "Good luck." - This product really does stink, but the possibilities are tremendous. They COULD make this product useful, and fill a large need. BUT, they've got a LOT of work to do to get it there. Unfortunately for me, I have less money, another useless disk, and still have a malfunctioning vehicle.

As they say... "If it sounds too good to be true...".

    1 out of 5 stars Scam...   March 10, 2004

The previous review is right on. The packaging and the wording on it is deceptive. Furthermore, both the package and their web page indicate that the software is enhanced with photos...there is not one photo or so much as an illustration on on the entire cd. In fact when you buy a cd you assume that there is approximately 700Mb of information on it. Fact is, this program and all of its "readme" and help files consists of just under 9Mb of data. If you should see this program at a flea market or garage sale for a quarter...save your quarter for a gumball machine where you get something for your money.

First off I am a 25 year old male that works in the infomation technology field. I don't know very much about cars, but I do what I can to maintain my truck. I was interested in this software because I figured it would give me some ideas on maintanance and would allow me to be better informed when taking my truck to a mechanic. Well... I was very dissapointed in this software to say the least. I truly believe they put more resources into the packaging than the software. Since I had already opened the package and therefore could not return the software, I tried to find anything in the program that was worthwhile. I soon realized that this junk was not only a waste of my money, but also my time. I have never written a review for anything, but I was so disgusted with this software that I felt I had to keep others from making the same mistake as I did. Honestly people, don't waste your time and money on this product. I rated it one star because I couldn't give it zero.
