This Does what it says on the BOx. August 7, 2008 A. Swanson This product does not say that it removes DRM protection. If you want something to remove the copy protection on your dvd's, you want something like "anydvd" by slyfox. You will need a program like that to remove the protection so you can copy YOUR dvd's that YOU OWN. After you have that out of the way, you're ready to convert your video (many formats, just read the description) to other formats. People who know about this stuff will figure it out pretty quick. Others may need to experiment. I've used previous versions of this app, and just wanted to put it in there that this program does what it says it does, and nothing more, which is a lot. But is doesn't remove DMR.
Very Buggy, Nearly Worthless June 19, 2008 retrodog (Houston/Galveston TX) 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
I don't normally give negative reviews and I don't like giving this one but this product is nearly worthless. I'm running it in Vista on a quad core Q6600 CPU and it just flakes out on a regular basis. Features like copying to a portable device can't even be selected. The Help information is also nearly worthless. I've tried to copy/convert video from my own DVDs (ones that I created) and it will hang up afterwards, rendering the long conversion process unusable. I find it very difficult to believe that Corel would release something this flaky. So far, the only thing I've gotten it to do successfully is to copy audio CDs. And that is just pathetic for a "DVD Copy" program. Don't buy this product. I originally thought that it was cheap enough to try. Now I realize that the real cost was the time that I've wasted on trying to get it to work. Very very dissapointing.
Very Misleading May 20, 2008 Hillaree L. Baldwin 3 out of 5 found this review helpful
There are a lot of downloadable programs that rip DVD's, but I wanted one on a disc because the computer I wanted the program on doesn't have an Internet Connection. This one seemed recommended by other reviews, and it also said it would work on Windows 2000, so I purchased it. When I received it however, it said that it does NOT work with Windows 2000, so I had to install it on a different computer anyway. Now I come back onto Amazon to see that the note that it works on 2000 is gone, which is good so future buyers don't get the same treatment I did. The price also dropped $10 since I purchased it four days ago. I am not happy at all with the purchase. The program may be fine, but I feel I was mislead and cheated in buying it.
Not very comprehensive February 27, 2008 Robert Ruthven (Grand Rapids, MI) 5 out of 9 found this review helpful
I was not very happy with this product. Only works for burning DVD-R to DVD-R.
I wish I knew... February 20, 2008 Kiersten Liberty (Michigan) 6 out of 8 found this review helpful
This product works great for home videos, but it does NOT copy any copyrighted material so beware! It's also a little more complicated to use than other programs I have used in the past so beginners may have trouble using it at first.
