Great for word geeks! September 4, 2008 Bemused If you love words, sit at a computer most of time and would rather read a screen than a book, you'll love this software. Truly, this is for the visually motivated word geeks. It's compatible with Windows and Mac. I use both and I've loaded Visual Thesaurus on all computers that I use. Settings are customizable. You can print exactly what you see on the screen. I like using the thesaurus in place of a dictionary in order to expand my vocabulary.
good productive August 29, 2008 K. Dauth (Sedona, AZ) I purchased this product because it seemed interesting. Originally I thought I would use it for my creative writing. But it has become a daily tool for many things. It is very good
An excellent learning tool with a unique approach August 4, 2008 G. Soos (Dublin, GA United States) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Based on the concept of "thinking maps", a visual organization method utilizing the right brain's spatial approach (similar to Edward De Bono's technic and the "Inspiration" software) this Thesaurus is revolutionary and a very useful tool for both learning and work.
An Amazing Resource July 26, 2008 S. Seigel (Planet Earth) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This is one of those tools that I never knew I needed until I had it. I write constantly and often search (wander, cast, roam) about for a word that says exactly what I mean. I have no less than 5 other powerful software dictionaries and/or thesauri--none comes close to VT. This tool allows me to quickly and painlessly brachiate across my dendriform lexicon and infallibly coming to rest on the very word I need! I consider this an indespensible aid for upwardly mobile authors, marketting professionals, public speakers, teachers and students.
A Waste January 25, 2008 Patricia (USA) 5 out of 9 found this review helpful
This product provides precarious definitions about a word with a 'pretty' map around a word pointing arrows of a scarce amount of obviously similar words. Any online free dictionary will provide you with more complete definitions that this device. It does not enhance the semantic level and comprehension of a word nor of related words, nor it provides a complete list of synonyms, nor antonyms. If you are a writter and want to find the correct word to enhance what you are trying to explain this will not help you. This product is not useful and is a waste in every sense of the term. The description of what it says it can provide is erroneous and once you buy it and find out that is not helpful, they do not allow returns. This product sounds promising my advice is...don't fell on the trap!
