Outdated When I Ordered November 21, 2008 Dallas Open Office is available with free download, but since I have dial up connection it kept timing out before download completed, so I decided to order the CDs. Was delivered in a timely manner and in good condition and cost effective. The only problem was that once installed, I was notified there was an update available. And the update was not a small incremental update - but required a full download - again a time out factor. Finally found a work around for downloading - so am now using Open Office and it is working well for me. Maybe I did not do enough searching to find the latest version - maybe there is a newer version out there now. Some of the problem may have been me selecting the wrong product.
It is old outdated version! New version is available! November 13, 2008 Alex Vox (Winnetka, IL) It is nice office suite but it is outdated. New version is available Office Productivity Suite for Windows Ver.8d
Disk defective. November 2, 2008 A. Hargis (USA) The disk was defective. When I tried to load and run, the computer was locked up and I had to pull the power cord to begin restoration. I did not complain, but simply cut it in half and threw it away.
Does what it is suppose to do, however......... October 28, 2008 Patrick L. Ozment (Pensacola, FL USA) The product appears to be as good as the Microsoft version and even has some extra features. However, it integrates itself into the system and has rendered a few features inoperable, such as the "e-mail this link/page to" feature in "Internet Tools" when viewing web sites. It took so long (over two weeks) to get here, I finally just downloaded it for free from the Internet. Also, I ordered two copies, and even though both CD's arrived in the same mailer by USPS, I was charged $3.99 shipping for each one. So let's see, $0.01 for the CD + $3.99 for shipping = $4.00 each X 2 CD's = $8.00 for free software. I think I got a deal, I'm just not sure where.
Openoffice is great!!! October 7, 2008 Daniel A. Bowers (Salt Lake City, Utah) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I downloaded Openoffice a week ago, since then have taken off my computer a trial edition of Wordperfect X4 and Microsoft Office 2007. I cant say enough about how good this program is. It opens documents generated from office 2007 with no errors. Its great. I highly recommend it.
