This product is in true Nancy Drew fashion with 2 new mysteries to solve! Both games give you hours of entertainment as you take on the role of Nancy and try to figure out "whodunit!"

I am a huge Nancy Drew fan! I have solved and own all the games and never get tired of them. Ghost Dogs of Moon Lake and Secret of the Scarlet Hand are some of the longest and hardest games (thats good by the way)!

Ghost Dogs of Moon Lake's mystery is all about dogs haunting a house by Moon Lake that one of Nancy's friends own (she left so you are all alone). This game is definitly on the scary side because of one of the beginning scenes so this game probably is recommended for ages 10 and up. The game is long and has fun puzzles and funny characters. I loved the dogs in this game!

Secret of the Scarlet Hand definitly takes a while to get in to because at first all you are doing is learning about the Mayans and doing tasks. However after the theft the game gets very interesting with twists and turns that will get you hooked. The game would probably be hard for younger kids to comprehend and really get into (they'd probably get kind of bored) but the game is great for history learners.

Overall these games are great and I play them over and over! I love the Nancy Drew games and can't wait for the 16th game to come out later in 2007!

4 out of 5 stars Ghost Dogs is better...   January 1, 2006

The Secret of the Scarlet Hand, I must say, wasn't one of my favorite mystery games. The storyline was a bit odd: Nancy is now an intern at a museum in Washington D.C. But right after she arrives, she learns that there have been a bunch of thefts! The only thing left behind is a scarlet hand at the site of the crime. You learn about the Mayas in this game, a ancient civilization in South America. While this was interesting, to the younger set it sometimes seems like more of a boring topic than fun for a mystery game. One of the cooler little parts of this game is taking the Washington DC Metro system... that's just a fun little feature. I found many of the tasks and puzzles to be much more boring than they are in other ND games. Alone, I'd give this game about a 5 or 6 out of 10.

On the other hand, Ghost Dogs of Moon Lake is one of my favorite Nancy Drew games! It is the scariest one except for Curse of Blackmoor Manor, I think, and it keeps you on your toes the whole time. There are secret passageways and trap doors, while in Secret of the Scarlet Hand, there aren't any (as far as I can remember...!!) Because it is scary, I would recommend it for ages 11 or 12 and up.

Overall, this isn't the best "double dare" set. If you are just going to buy one, buy the one with Treasure in a Royal Tower and The Final Scene. You might get hooked though - and these games are lots of fun even though they are not the best. If you're just looking to buy one game, Message in a Haunted Mansion (#3) is a good game for a beginner, and I'd also recommend some of the later games -- Danger on Deception Island, Last Train to Blue Moon Canyon, Secret of the Old Clock (based on the Nancy drew book!), and for the horse-lovers, Secret of Shadow Ranch.

    Happy sleuthing!
