Yes it is like the game of your childhood June 12, 2008 HR Bookworm (New York) I had to have this game, it just reminded me of computer class in 3rd grade, However beware this game has glitches it stopes in the middle and freezes your entire computer, Soo annoying and it does not save so you have to reboot your computer and start all over again. I have windows XP so BEWARE, not worth the aggrevation.
Doesn't install on XP May 28, 2008 Wayne S. Pelouch (McKinney, TX United States) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I usually ignore people who have installation issues as I am quite experienced in debugging simple install problems. This game gives a "Severe error" during install on XP SP2 and then promptly exits the installation. For the price, I thought there was not much to lose, but adding shipping it turned out to be a dumb purchase. I will still try to hunt down the problem, but I hate spending my time trying to fix something that says it is XP compatible. Don't waste your time with this!
Insta-Classic May 7, 2008 E. J. Taylor (Utah) To be perfectly honest, I had trouble originally liking this game and I thought the side story was annoying. But the more I played it, the more I saw it's worth. Great sequel and exceedingly addicting.
It's really a repeat of Oregon Trail II April 5, 2008 Simfish InquilineKea (Redmond, WA) It's just Oregon Trail II + a few additional movies that you'll tire of after the first viewing and fishing and gathering options (the same ones you get from Oregon Trail III). It's been a long time since the game has been released though, so you'd probably be advised to get whatever's cheaper. But if you've played Oregon Trail II before, don't expect anything new.
Oregon Trail Computer Game December 31, 2007 Busy Beaver 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
As a former Oregon teacher, I used this game many times over the years. It was so much fun for the students, they didn't realize that they were gaining critical thinking skills and learning about pioneer life. Now I have given it to my grandchildren and they are enjoying the challenge of getting to the end of the trail. My 10 yr. old granddaughter just called to tell me she was doing great buying supplies until she realized she had no money left to buy oxen to pull the wagon! The fun continues!
