The editing features for photos are great. The photo album layouts are very basic--which is great if that is what you want. If you want scrapbooking layouts this is not for you. (Art explosion Scrapbook Factory Deluxe) I have been scanning a lot of old family photos, and this package is good for correcting MANY things-overexposure/underexposure, coloring, cropping... There are lots of edges to choose from. The clip art is limited and basic. The frame selection is, well, ugly. I use this to edit photos, resave them and load them into other packages to create album pages.

Poor Performance December 6, 2001 Bryan (USA) 24 out of 25 found this review helpful
I too thought this would be good software, having the printshop name. The software does an ok job, and has a good user interface. The place where it falls down flat on its face is performance and file saving. 1. If you scan 5 pictures at 600 dpi, then go from the get photo to the print tab, it takes 30 minutes!! and the computer is locked up for that entire time. I have a PIII 800 Mhz with 256M of memory and lots of free disk space. There is NO WAY it should take this long. 2. When your scanned image is brought into the program, it immediatly saves it to the C drive WITHOUT asking for your permission, it also gives it a generated file name. You have no choice in this matter, and there is no 'option' to turn this off. Oh, it saves it as a BMP file, so any file that is saved is huge. Hope you have Giga bytes of free disc space. You can do a Save As later, but you still have to go in and delete the origional file saved by the software. Adobe has a FREE product called ActiveShare that does almost the same thing, and seems to have better performance. I'm trying that software out next.
I think this is Great! October 16, 2001 P. Rozzen (W. Brookfield, MA United States) 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
Of course, Photoshop is supposed to be the best - if you can take the time to learn/use it! Well, I do digital imaging part-time for myself and a photographer, and I don't have the time it takes to learn PS. THIS is THE program I use - I can do all that PS can do quickly (minus layers) and very effectively, without spending hours learning - instead hours are spent editing photos that turn into $$$$ for me. It's a great, cheap editin program!

I am hoping that I underated the photopro...the reason I purchased the photopro was because I was under the impression that it came with a tuitorial guide..if it did for some reason it's not to be found on my copy..perhaps if I knew how to use the photopro I would enjoy it and give it the rating I'm sure it deserves and photo? could be photopro..
