Cruella De Ville is back, and she has an army of robot toys to go after the dalmations with! Ages 8 & up

    Amazon.com Review
This CD-ROM may end up being your child's best friend as he or she uses puppy power to devour bones, rescue fellow pups, and ultimately defeat the woman dogs love to hate, Cruella De Vil. Cruella is about to go bankrupt because her new line of toys has failed miserably: kids would rather play with their pets than Cruella's creations. So she reprograms her toys, transforming them from heaps of shiny junk into robot pet-nappers.

Kids can assume the identity of Domino, a boy pup, or Oddball, a spot-free girl Dalmatian puppy, and set out to rescue fellow puppies. The puppies are stashed in crates in 16 locations that are increasingly difficult to navigate: when pups--er, kids--collect enough bones, rescue enough puppies, and stay away from Cruella's minions successfully, they move up a level of play and on to a different location. A toy store, the inside of Big Ben, and Piccadilly Circus are just a few of the places that must be thoroughly sniffed around before completing the game's big goal: a battle with Cruella herself.

Other critters bearing clues, buried treasures, slick surfaces, and additional opportunities to solve problems make Puppies to the Rescue a real tail-wagger. There are mini-games hidden within some levels that can be accessed separately, a sticker book that kids can piece together as they collect stickers on their puppy quest, and animated sequences that reward problem-solving and move the plot forward. The cute-as-heck puppy actions will please parents who prefer no violence; kids can make the pups run, jump, sniff, dig, and tumble, but the most destructive weapon these pups have is their toy-destroying bark.

This CD-ROM is Windows only, and movement through the program is by keyboard or game pad; thankfully, the keying is more intuitive than some of Disney's other recent offerings. And unlike some movie tie-ins, this spot-on game does justice to Disney's beloved Dalmatian franchise. (Ages 8 and older) --Anne Erickson

    Amazon.com Product Description
Run, jump, bark, fetch, dig, and sniff your way through 16 different 3-D London worlds in this action-adventure game from Disney. Based on the movie 102 Dalmatians, this CD-ROM lets children play as a girl or boy pup, saving pets all over London from Cruella De Vil's henchmen, pet snatchers Horace and Jasper. Friendly animal characters assist children as they maneuver through London. Escape from Le Pelt while putting treasures back into place at the Royal Museum. Dodge snowballs at the Ice Festival, find the bones, rescue pups, and paw your way through the Picadilly Circus. Take on Cruella herself, and play six minigames. (Ages 8 and older)

    5 out of 5 stars Very Happy 4 1/2 Year Old   June 16, 2008

This game is GREAT! My 4 1/2 year old son plays with this game at pre-school. It's more than just a fun game to navigate through. It teaches them coordination and problem solving. There is one aspect of this game that frightens him a little (the Dog Catcher). Otherwise, he amazes me with his control of the keyboard and how well he has learned to navigate around on the computer. My daughter who is 7, also loves the game. It truly is worth the money, but BEWARE WHEN ORDERING. There are different versions of this game based on the type of system you are using and for hand held toys. I almost ended up with a cartridge version when it was a CD Rom I was interested in.

5 out of 5 stars Colorful, unique & fun play areas!   August 22, 2005

Aside from the additctive mini games, you'll be dazzled by all the unique level settings like the Carnival, Picadilly, Toy Factory, Sewer and Old Mansion. Challenging controls and cute, colorful characters make more an awesome kid's game.

It's a good game, but I recommend the Playstation version of this. The computer one is bad.

5 out of 5 stars My 6 year old and I play this together   June 1, 2004

This game is fun, fun, fun. I bought it for my six year old a few days ago, and we've put hours into it already. On the PC, it takes a moderate amount of coordination to bounce and jump, but we have cleared all 100 bones out two levels so far and have enjoyed every minute.

I bought this game in a Disney Dalmation 3-pak, and wasn't expecting much. But this is the only game we've played out of the three, so the other two are just gravy.

    Highly recommended!

    Update-one year later:
We finished this game after three of fun play. It is still her favorite game, and we keep wishing we could find another which is as much fun. No regrets-find this game somewhere and enjoy!

    5 out of 5 stars Great game !!!   June 18, 2003

This is a wonderful game. I've got 3 kids aged 5,4 & 3. The cd contains the main game and some mini fun games.
In the main game, the levels open up as you go along. Controlling the puppy is not east at first though can be mastered with some practice - My 5 year old plays this a lot. It's too hard for the other two.
At the beginning only one minigame is available - The classic memory game !!!
Both my 4 and 5 year olds love it. More mini games become available as you advance in the main game.

My 3 year old is too young too play but she LOVES TOO WATCH.
Overall, I truely recommend this game which I've had the pleasure to play a bit myself after putting the kids to sleep...
You've got plenty of levels too complete so it should keep you busy for quite a while...
    Great 3d graphics !!!
