    5 out of 5 stars Petz 4   June 5, 2006

(This is a review for both games) In appearance, this game looks a bit boring. Trust me. It's a LOT of fun. You adopt a dogz or catz(No, that is not a typo) and name them(For example, I got a Dalmatian and named her Sakura)Then, you sign an adoption pledge. Let the fun begin! Entertain yourself for hours watching your dogz or catz play games, interact, and if they're adults, even fall in love and have kittens/puppiez!
There are several playscenes to, er, play in, and a huge amount of toyz to play with and clothez to put on! Plus, each dog is unique! (In fact, one time, I brought a Mutt out of the Center and it was Hiccuping!)
Also, there is the joy of hexed breeds. What is a hexed breed you ask? No, it is not casting a hex/spell on a petz, it is taking the breed file and editing it to your choosing. (I Suggest looking up Carolyn Horn: awesome hexer) In response to another reviewer, I too got a cheetah with wings by breeding a Cheetah with a Winged Siamese. (Kudos to Horn's hexing skills) Unfortunately, he was lost in a tragic computer crash...Along with his brother... (My cheetah with wings was the coolest guy ever!! I'll never forget ya!)
Plus, if you have both Dogz and Catz 4 installed, the Catz and Dogz can interact! But, they may not get along. Plus a catz and a dogz cannot breed with each other, (Hehe, a Catz Dogz hybrid? Maybe Horn can make that possible! Hehe)
Oh yes, before I forget, there is a playscenene editor! (via, Paint, Photoshop, uh, anything else)Sadly, unless you have incredible art skills, your playscene won't be very close to the real ones. Eh, who cares?)
When you breed Petz, of the same breed together, (Like, a Great Dane with a Great Dane) The baby will be a purebred, aka: Same breed as its parents. But if you breed petz of different breeds together (A Great Dane with a Dalmatian for example) The baby will be a mixed breed, and have traits of both parents. (Like my cat with a cheetah body and wings)But, sometimes in purebreds, there will sometimes (rarely) be a mutation in them. For example, one time, I bred two purebred Dalmations together, and I got a brown baby! (Sadly, his file was lost too)
Anyway, sorry for boring you to death with my review. Hoped it helped! (Oh yeah, and NEVER lose the files of brown dalmations or winged cheetahs. They rock.) Adios!

5 out of 5 stars Petz is about the Community   May 5, 2006

Everyone loves petz, of course, and if you buy this game, make sure not to buy Petz 5! It is TERRIBLE, and what's worse, it makes your petz unable to go back into Petz 4! At any rate, Petz isn't about the game, although it's fun, it's about the community. Go see the wikipedia article on the Petz Community if you don't know what it is, and if you're thinking of buying this game, track us down!

Great game, but it's to bad you can only have one dog, and it doesn't always work on new computers.

    5 out of 5 stars Petz 4: A few more feautures then Petz 5!   July 24, 2005

Dogz 4, a Petz game, is in my opinion, is better then Petz 5. Petz 4 has a Travel Diary and when you go to some scenes there is a picture at the start! In Petz 5 no Travel Diary and no pictures at the start of some scenes. And in Petz 5 once you have made mom marry someone BLAH! It's done for her! Even though she can have litters of 1 to 4, she's stuck in the Nursery and the mom and her baby/babies are the only ones who can be there! To fix this go to a famous hexer's site (Carolyn Horn) at...erm, not good to give URLs! So search at google.com...oops! That was a URL! Oh nevermind. Hexing is like programming. Hexing petz is only called hexing cuz' you use a Hex Editor, it's not really hexing. Anyways, if you want to run Petz 4 on Windows XP...see my Babyz review (Babyz - Running Babyz, Petz 3, & Petz 4 on Windows XP). If not there wait until it appeirs. And we have a Dachshund named Oscar, a pig named Wilbur, and a hexed breed, an SC Color Dane named Red N' Blue. Signed, StoryMaker. "Gotta trust the kid's review!"

This is such a great game I got it 1 year ago and I still play it every day! It is so much fun to adopt your pets and play with them!
