    Product Description
The Rybka 3 opening book is a high-class compilation of opening theory. It was developed for the worlds strongest chess program Rybka 3 and will maximize the programs playing strength. The choice of variations in the book is well suited to the style of the program, and the book has been fine-tuned and checked in thousands of games. The Rybka Book has high value outside computer chess. It reflects the state of current opening knowledge as played in master, correspondence and 100,000 top computer games (up to June 2008). And this is only the starting point: the value of the book lies in its deep original analysis and move choices, which lead to a re-evaluation in many critical points of modern theory. This makes it useful for tournament and correspondence players alike. The book contains a lot of computer-checked analysis never published anywhere before. The author of the Rybka 3 book is Jeroen Noomen, one of the worlds leading experts in computer opening theory. Jeroen Noomen has been on the Rybka team since the very start, and his preparation is used in all official events, including the World Championship 2007 which Rykba won. In his long career as an opening analyst he has achieved many fine novelties in top computer chess events. Number of positions in the book: 3,387,966. Size 260 MB. RYBKA 3 OPENING BOOK Rybka 3 Opening book by Jeroen Noomen Number of positions in the book: 3,387,966. 260 MB on CD-ROM

4 out of 5 stars Good companion to the great Rybka 3 engine   November 12, 2008

Deep Rybka 3 World Chess Champion for Multiprocessor PC has revolutionized the way I learn chess. The only drawback had been the Chessbase-bundled opening book, which is old and utterly uninspiring. After a few frustrating cases of bad analysis on early stages of various games, I finally paid up and got this opening book CD.

It is immediately apparent that this book contains some very daring lines. To call its analysis ultra-modern may well be an understatement. I have, of course, only scratched the surface so far, but it is obviously an impressive compilation of original research.

On the down side, however, the installation instruction is totally wrong. What one needs to do is actually copying the three data files to the right directory. Why the vendor would not bother to provide either the right tool or the right instruction is totally beyond me.

5 out of 5 stars The best opening book ...EVER   October 24, 2008

Alexander Kalinin was the father of Rybka chess book, given more power to Rybka.

The book is nice, but buy the Book with out the engine, could not worth it.

If you want to improve chess, buy Rybka engine and the book, there are over a 1.5millon key openning. Very nice.

The book is great because of that i gave five start, but just for the book, i should gave 3, the review is based on the product, but i wouldn't buy the book with out the engine, if you have to choose is better buy the engine, but if you can buy both.
