Product Description Images that you once thought were gone forever can now be recovered! Have you ever accidentally deleted an image or had your camera batteries fail while saving your pictures? If so, you know how devastating it can be to lose your files. Image Rescue 2.0 can recover image files from any brand of memory and any mass storage compliant reader, giving you added peace of mind knowing your memories are not lost. In this new version of Image Rescue, most data files can now be recovered in addition to the image files on the CompactFlash card. Any USB, USB 2.0 or FireWire reader can be used to recover files from any brand CompactFlash card. Card Update - Updates card firmware (Available for certain Lexar Media CompactFlash cards and the use of a JumpShot cable sold separately). Card Updater - This feature will check for an update to a card's firmware by making a request to Lexar Media's update server via the web. The request will be made using the HTTP protocol so that any firewalls will not block the update. If an update is available a message will be displayed, if there is no update an up-to-date message will be displayed. In the case there is an update, the user can request it to be applied to the card. The firmware will be downloaded from the server and the card's firmware will be updated. System Requirements - Compatible Operating Systems - Windows 2000/XP and Mac OS 10.2 or later One available USB or FireWire port on your computer Any mass sotrage class USB, USB 2.0 or FireWire reader (sold separately) CD-ROM Drive

Finding Lost Pictures March 20, 2007 J. Schneider (Montrose, Colorado) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
The product is simple to use and operates at various levels of data recovery. My recovery required the most intensive effort but almost all data were recovered even though the SD card had been reformatted. Those pictures that had been overwritten were not recoverable, through no fault of this excellent product. I highly recommend it for image recovery from a digital camera card.
Disappointing results February 27, 2006 Giordano Checchi (Atlanta GA USA) 1 out of 3 found this review helpful
I purchased the Lexar Image Rescue 2.0 software because I was having trouble with two Lexar 1GB Professional CompactFlash memory cards. The case containing the software CD arrived broken. The installation instructions that came with the software are poor and I had to contact Lexar for further instructions. Their recommendation was to install once, remove, and install again. Did not make a lot of sense but it did work. At the end, the software did not solve my problem, it recovered frames containing checkers from 3 or 4 different pictures. Which led me to eventually discover that the Lexar memory cards were not compatible with my camera (Canon 20D). Lexar replaced the cards with new compatible cards for free, shipment of the bad cards not included. Time and money wasted.
