Do your homework before buying this software!! August 1, 2008 Magickalrealm (Arizona) After purchasing this software I figured out that it does NOT allow you to import active ebay listings, nor does it allow you do import orders from listings not made with isale. Definitely read the manual closely before buying it. Which is pretty much what I was told by an isale rep. that I should have done when I requested a refund after purchasing it. If you are starting fresh with no current listings, this MAY be the software for you. If you already have listings on ebay and you think this may be an option for making things faster, you have an unpleasant surprise in store. You can import via csv files, but from what I can tell, you will still have to change many things in your listings to make your listings isale compatible. Not to mention, you would need to be previously using a program that exports to csv files, which some programs don't. This software has many shortcomings, I recommend you FULLY do your research before putting money into it. It took me over a week to get a reply from them after my first email to them. The replies have been faster since then, but I think that may be due to the fact that I have been complaining. I would recommend you take a serious look at Garagesale and do an in depth comparison before buying isale. If after that, you feel it is the one for you, so be it. Just don't ask for a refund if you find out later that it doesn't measure up! Also, if you use your .mac account for your picture server as I do, isale only allows you to upload into the main directory. Garagesale allows you to upload pics into specific folders. Isale MAY have a future if they do some considerable updates, but for now, I would pass on it. UPDATE: I have now spent literally all day trying to import my listings into this software via csv. It doesn't work at all. Isale lists them all as new auctions and imports the correct number of listings. However, NOT ONE SINGLE detail of the listings are in tact. For the love of all that is holy people, go with Garagesale, I'm going back to Garagesale effective immediately.
The new release (4.1) is excellent! May 27, 2007 Peter (Washington, DC USA) 2 out of 4 found this review helpful
This is great software from a great group - iSale is easy to use, very powerful & very 'Mac' like, which is terrific. It has all the features that I can think of - if you're truly a 'powerseller' maybe this doesn't have everything you need, I don't know. If you're a regular joe looking to make selling things on eBay easier and slicker - this is the software for you!
iSale or not to iSale (not) February 14, 2007 Fred P. Phillips (down south) 5 out of 7 found this review helpful
I goofed up and purchased a copy also not know ing the limits I need the program to work on 2 computers also. I got it any way. Then to my suprise after spending the 39.00 for version 3.3, I could not upgrade to the pro pack with out spending another 19.95 to upgrade to Version 4.0 the another 24.95 to upgrade to a propack. What a Rip $84.85 to get what I need. I am going to try GarageSale.
Not the greatest October 1, 2006 Saul Pea (New Brunswick, NJ USA) 10 out of 10 found this review helpful
Barely worth the money. I've never used PC based ebay software, so I cannot compare it to that. iSale is clunky, it's developers are in Germany, and it seems all the German companies I have to deal with love to ignore emails. It has taken iSale 3 days or more to answer a simple question. You can't call, because its international and a different time zone. Its a bit confusing to install and use, such as being asked a yes or no question, then your button options have nothing to do with yes or no. The widget info is never the same as the actual info. It won't see a bid or won't detect watchers. The main reason I got it, which it suffices for, is I can input partial bits of info on items over a period of time before I decide to list it, and it writes the html for me of text size and color. It has refused to list sometimes, giving me an error message with no rhyme or reason, then I have to go back to ebay and list through them. It also gives wrong information when listing more than one photo, it will not add the cost of the extra photos, its only after it is listed that you see how much it really cost to list. There is no indication of your seller account fee amount when you list either.
Nice to look at but useless as a serious tool August 25, 2006 Ken B. (Burbank, CA) 6 out of 6 found this review helpful
This app has a very nice looking interface and is useful for light use. It's functionality is elementary, it lacks power and flexibility, and it is relatively expensive (it's competitor GarageSale, while not as flashy, costs $24.99). As previous reviews have stated, you can't edit a running auction from within the applications and you have to go to eBay's site. The templates aren't very flexible and don't handle cases where you put more text into the title or short description fields than iSale would like you to (you end up with gaps in the graphics). If you add some photos to the templates make sure you put them where you want them the first time because you can't move them around (you'll have to delete them and then re-add them). Want to customize a template so that some text appeares in iSale's predefined text areas each time you use the template (such as shipping info or auction terms)? Forget it, iSale ignores the text so that you have to add it to each auction manually. I also various problems submitting auctions and the error messages gave me very little help in determining the problem. The documentation is a PDF file that doesn't really go beyond basic information. There are many more features lacking than I have stated here. I regret purchasing this softare and I don't recommend it as a serious tool.
