Music Ace Deluxe December 16, 2008 Lyn Taliaferro (Chicago) Bought for my 7-year old daughter who started taking piano. She loves it and I love it.
Good supplement to Lessons November 13, 2008 S. Regnier I have a 7 year old daughter and this product has helped to motivate her to want to continue lessons and practice. She has a lot of fun with it!
Great kids music program September 30, 2008 Lauren Freed (Boston, MA) Music Ace delivers! A wonderful fun filled format that teaches children to read music and understand musical notation. This format gives parents and teachers a great tool to support early musically learning. Used in conjunction with instrumental music lessons - this program allows kids to excel at a great pace while having fun at the computer. My son (6) looks forward to his computer treat of the day - playing music ace.
May not function properly on your PC September 21, 2008 Adiv Abramson (Brooklyn, NY USA) This is a good product, once you get it launched. After installation on my WinXP SP2 box, it would not launch properly and repeatedly displayed a Visual C++ error message about not finding an entry point or some such thing. When you dismiss the alert dialog box, every subsequent move of the mouse triggers its display again. Only after several tries was I able to get into the program successfully. Furthermore, it changes the screen resolution when you select the full screen display option. It does not consistently restore your previous resolution upon exiting. These anomalies reoccurred each time I attempt to use the program. The lessons that I completed are fun, engaging and instructive. Each lesson has one or more related games which serve to reinforce the material covered in the main lesson. But because it appears to have some serious compatibility issues, at least with my PC, I cannot give it a higher rating. So be advised that this application may or may not work properly on your system.
One of the best music educational software April 27, 2008 M. Dikov (Melbourne, FL United States) We purchased several different programs from the same category and Music Ace has some major advantages. First of all it is an education tool not a game. It has learning games, but also delivers the information needed to obtain certain skill. I found that some other programs overly emphasize on games and this often distracted my son. Music Ace displays both text for readers and is narrated, so early readers or younger players can learn too. The integration with a MIDI adapter is decent and does the job of improving the learning experience. But most importantly my 7yo son has a lot of fun with this program. My wife was really surprised that Music Ace is also perfect for parents that do not have music knowledge but want to keep up with their kids lessons. One con is that the graphics are a bit dated and on the larger LCD screens looks a bit blurry.
