Doesn't do enough! December 12, 2008 John F. Passero 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
To get to do what you really want, you have to pay much more for an upgrade. The program that came with my camera does more.
usless if going to play on dvd player December 8, 2008 M. Newman 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
I purchased this product which worked great on the computer. Had many features that I loved. The creation part was wonderful and played great on my computer. When it came to playing the created dvd on my Sony dvd player (I tried it on three different players)it would not play. I tried repeated options and also followed the direction of the support I received from the software mfg. The dvd's are now only good for coasters. A big waste of money.
Save your money! November 24, 2008 T. Trammell 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
I bought this product at a nationwide retailer. After installing the product, the program kept asking me to insert the installation disk which was still in the drive. The program would then close automatically with no troubleshooting ability. After reinstalling the software and getting the same result, I took it back to the retailer. Unfortunately, their store policy was that software can only be exchanged for the exact same title. So on the off chance that I got a bad disk, I swapped out the program. The second installation proceeded exactly as the first. I attempted to contact the company for customer support but they have limited hours, their lines were always busy with no option to leave a message, and after a week of trying to get through... I was through. There is an FAQ on their website which describes this very problem and offers a patch to solve it. And typical of the process so far, the patch does not work correctly. I would say that this program is a complete piece of junk... if I could get into it to verify it.
useless for ripping DVD chapters November 13, 2008 doppelganger (Chicago) 1 out of 3 found this review helpful
I'm not sure why it is SO hard to find a program that will rip chapters from a DVD (successfully that is). I have had no luck. Magix is just another one, but you may want to consider that the function I'm interested in may not relate to your purpose, just know that: When you go to rip DVD chapters, the program will only allow you to select ONE FILE AT A TIME. No shift and select multiple chapters, it would take you forever to capture anything that was not an analog signal or directly from DV tape. Anything else is useless.
Makes a great video for the price September 28, 2008 D. Martini 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
I've used this program to piece together video clips, photos and music and am very pleased with the end result. No distortion of the images, whether increased or decreased in size. I was using Nero, but my videos ended up with distortion. The transitions are a bit lacking, although there are plenty of them to choose from. Seem dated and not daring enough in what they do and how quickly they do it. But I don't use very many transitions, so it doesn't bother me all that much. I've encountered no tech problems running it on XP.
