A great improvement over other programs! January 6, 2009 MW (Salem, Oregon) The program has a lot to offer and does make it easy to print recipes. I feel I need a printed overview of its capabilities and how to's, however. The disc is the only thing you receive and it begins with "Add a recipe". For me this was frustrating and I wanted a brief summary of it's potential and some guidance on what to do. MW
Worst Software Program I ever bought December 6, 2008 Bubs55 (Oak Park, Ill.) 1 out of 4 found this review helpful
I thought I was buying a software program where i could type in my recipes and the program would help me organize them by type of recipes, print out the recipes, and send the recipes to my friends via email. Boy was I ever wrong!!! All this program does is allows me to enter recipes, and categorize them by type of recipes. There is no easy way to search for recipes, print a group of recipes together, or easily compare recipes. Nor can I simply go to the category and look up a recipe. The developer of this software appears to be using access as the data base engine. When you look at where it gets installed on your computer, an images folder that contains numerous religious and other images that have nothing to do with the program come up. There are bible pictures, Morman references, etc. Very strange. This was the biggest waste of money.
Very disappointed December 5, 2008 K. Stines (TN - USA) 1 out of 3 found this review helpful
Bought this based on reviews in Amazon but VERY disappointed in this software. It does not allow you to search by type of dish (dessert, entree, etc) and is very basic software. Wish it would allow for better sorting - allow for better data entry and enter nutritional data. Have entered a number of recipes but going to have to find some other way - just too much trouble to use.
Great Product, easy to use December 4, 2008 Stacey Condie (St. George, Utah United States) 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
I love this sofware program, it is so easy to use. I have been collecting family recipes from both my husband's side of the family and mine for some months now and have put them all into this software. I have ordered their binder kits and will be putting all of them together for Christmas gifts to family. If you are like our family and everyone looses family favorite recipes and one person is always calling the other to see if they have it. You will love this gift you can make and give everyone...all the favorites and special recipes that mean to much to families. I love that you can insert pictures or stories next to the recipes to make them even more special and it truly becomes an instant heirlom.

Upon receiving my CD for this recipe finder, I was surprised there was no instruction booklet to go with it. The only directions are on the CD itself, which are not too hard to follow. I guess this is how old-fashioned I am. If anyone is a typist, you can follow the instructions quite well and figure out what to click on to get around. Anyone who is not familiar with a writing software (Word or Wordpro), may have trouble knowing how to move around in the program. The very first thing I did after installing the CD was to accidentally remove all of the recipes already on it (about 25 come with the CD). There is a button to remove them, but I thought it was only one recipe at at time (that is a another button). It scared me thinking I paid this much for a blank form, but there is a button to restore all the recipes. That was a relief. Overall, it is a rather simple program to use. I now have over 450 recipes entered. I like the fact that I can go to one place now and pull up all of my favorite recipes to see what to fix for dinner and not have to search each cookbook to find my favorite ones. It allows me to enter Tablespoons and teaspoons automatically without retyping each measurement each time. In fact, all of the measurements are already listed. All I have to do is click on the one I need and continue typing the ingredients. This program allows me to set up a new type of recipe if needed; such as adding Fish/Seafood for tuna, shrimp or fish recipes. That is great. Instead of everything going under the entree type, I added new ones like beef, poultry, pasta, grains, salads/dressings, cakes/frostings and Tips. It's just like you would find in a regular cookbook. I have not tried to print out a recipe yet, but that is also available on this CD. I read the reviews before purchasing, and if need be, I feel confident that customer service would help me there. This is a great CD if you need to organize your recipes to one location like I did. I have several cookbooks (about 20+) that I like to use. One cookbook has my favorite cornbread, pancake, biscuit recipes. Another has my favorite casserole recipes in it; another desserts, etc. So, now I can go to one location and look up what to fix for supper and have dessert to go with it and not look up each cookbook. That saves me lots of time. Hope this helps anyone who is thinking about trying to organize their recipes. It is great.
