A Cool Way to Keep Your LapTop Cool October 6, 2008 S. F. McKenna (New Freedom, PA United States) I am so glad I purchased this Cooling Pad! I was constantly listening to my laptop fan run harder and harder - even though I have it positioned on a wide board so the internal fan stays clear and gets the air it needs. The second I set this pad up and plugged in the USB cord, I was amazed at how fast the noise was reduced and the temperature on the keyboard went down. I sincerely think this cooling pad will lengthen the life of my hard drive because the laptop runs much faster and easier now. The pad is just a little smaller than my laptop but they fit together very well and the laptop sits securely on top of the Cooling Pad. I use the Cooling Pad every day and will continue to do so.
Cheap but good. October 6, 2008 A. Walker (Manitowoc, WI) this is a very small and handy device. it's smaller than my laptop, I have a 17" widescreen but it actually makes it fit on my lap better. I love it. I can't say how it will work long term but so far it's great. Almost silent too.
Works but kinda cheap October 6, 2008 R. Modi (Atlanta, GA) There were some good reviews for this fan, so I thought I'd try it out. The good news is it definitely works. I can tell that my laptop is cooler now and the cpu temp has been showing a few degrees cooler than before. But the bad news is that this thing feels like cheap plastic and is fairly loud. Some early reviews said it was pretty sturdy, and some later reviews said it was cheaper, so I think they changed the manufacturing on this item at some point. I can't speak to the durability yet, but it's been running for 2 weeks now, without a problem. I do wish it had a switch to spin the fans in the opposite direction. This one, the fans blow the air down and out the back. I'd prefer to blow the air up, but what do I know.
Effective but Cheap October 6, 2008 J. Goff (Wichita, KS) First off, this cooling pad seems to work fine and it is one of the more inexpensive options available. Having said that, I don't think I would buy another one. It is very cheaply made and I can't imagine it surviving very long without getting broken. When I squeeze the cooling pad and laptop together to pick them up, I cause the fans to rub on the plastic housing. It works but the quality is not there.
It doees the job.... October 3, 2008 S. Ocampo (SoCal, US) a typical mass produced product from china, it does what its simply designed to do. i was expecting a little better quality, but you get what you pay for. i didnt think a cooling pad would make much difference in performance, but there is a significant improvement. this one fits just right under my 15" hp, and it is quiet. i havent compared other pads, but id recommend one.
