Not good July 30, 2007 JJ (St. Paul, MN USA) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
I would have given this a (0) zero...but it wasn't an option. I just purchased this product and couldn't be more disappointed. Years ago I bought Rosetta Stone Italian and it was a much better learning tool, even now when it's out dated. My 13 year old son is interested in learning to speak Italian so I thought this would be a good basic learning tool...it's really poor and quite lame. At least Rosetta Stone software rates your verbal feedback on whether you're pronouncing the words correctly...this software just lets you hear it (how do you know you're saying it right?). You get what you pay for...this was cheap software that I thought might be a good first step for my 13 year old...but turns out to be a waste of money. I will go back to Rosetta Stone and pay for software that will really teach us the Italian language.
It's a good program... May 28, 2007 A. A. Means (The fabulous ATX) 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
I have this program in French and Spanish as well. There are quizzes and tests on every section you learn about. It has numbers and phrases that you need to get around Italy, of course, there could always be more, but it has a great start. You can also say phrases into the computer and hear them on playback, it helped me make my phrases sound more correct. The only problem I have with the program is they don't say the words in English as well, so you have to watch the screen and learn at the same time. One more thing, I have lost many hours to these programs, it is very addictive and I have even convinced some friends to learn these languages with me. This program is like a Chevrolet, good but not perfect. If you want the Lexus version get the Rosetta Program, that is a well put together program, but I love the one I have now. ~Ciao~
