As a racing game it's pretty good. It's pretty old with decent graphics for the time.
It takes a little more skill than most would imagine.
Albeit a good premise, it seems under budgeted so can't really knock it much.
Honestly the quick speeds are great. but... that's where the downfall begins...
It honestly has picked up on a trend with most games, where you get a mind blowing machine with high top speed, but... you normally can't go that speed.

It really would have been a lot better if

1: it came with an level/skin editor

    2 Better multiplayer abilities.

3: Better Variety in bikes, parts and pilots. (only choice is a preppy college looking guy, and the parts are usually useless and trivial except for the best parts.)

4: Gotten rid of the cooling as breaks and heat destroying the machine.
I mean really it's like how the world is cooling stopping the machine through friction? and if you d/c they say you go slow due to air friction. uh duh air friction is there no matter what the rocket strapped to my butt should still move me quickly. the idea it's held to the wall with magnets would have made more logic about the breaks.
(but of course this stuff is trivial.)
but what isn't is the fact that when you get injured (gain heat)
the heat doesn't' dissipates but your boost does...

    5: Had a practice/time trial mode.
this game logs EVERY race, and if you crash/quit etc etc it counts against your dainty record.

6: had more variety in obstacles and paths in the map.
The game is pretty much a twisty road with road blocks.

7: If the physics were consistent.
in rookie the player can do pretty much anything and just act like a battering ram, but in pro or ballistic the slightest touch (or finicky collision hulls) can send them flying.
plus it's odd, how is it that i can go 2400mph and smack right into a pillar and just kind of bounce off a little.
usually it's the same 123 kick routine. and it gets old fast.
8: had better ai. (especially if they don't bloody cheat.
these weirdos can go with full boost and go through objects.)

9: gotten rid of those almost invisible purple lights that bloody stops a player in their tracks. (or at least made them more visible.

10: AT LEAST 1-2 BLOODY MAPS THAT A PERSON CAN ACTUALLY GO 2400MPH + (I've actually gone that fast in the current maps but its' bloody awful time doing it. it's usually go really fast and then clunk and repeat!)

    on the good side though.
the game can be very addictive, and the courses do require
    a keen learning curve.
it is very fun to achieve the seemingly random awards like daredevil or ballistic which can be a very very exciting.
breaking the sound barrier is very very very fun.
it is over all a very good game.

although i listed all that it is a very good game, made by a seemingly new company. it can quickly get exciting, especially when the player goes over the speed of sound, or goes so fast that the world seems to go backwards.

    Graphics: Above average
    Music: Mediocre
    Game play:Good
    Re playability: Too a point.
Over all quality: Oddly enough very high.

Even though I probably sound like I'm knocking the game,
    I really like this game.
Also take into account that i am fairly picky and this game seems to have been
made by a seemingly new company.
I highly recommend this game for anyone who likes racing games.
it can quickly get exciting, especially when the player goes over the speed of sound, or goes so fast that the world seems to go backwards.
but chances are if you don't you'll probably turn it into a coaster in about a week.
it is definitely a game for people who are tired of gran turismo clones, and should be in a racing fans collection. I also wish that their would have been a better response to this game when it was released.

WOW! What an awesome game! It's futuristic racing, except you're racing inside of a giant, metal, electromagnetic tube instead of on a concrete track. Indeed, what a great concept of a game. The best part of the game is that there is no limit to the speeds that you can achieve. Reportedly, some people have been able to achieve speeds of over Mach 2, over twice the speed of sound. There seven tracks to race and about 14,000 different combinations to upgrade your racer and his/her machine. If you have an almost up-to-date video card, these graphics are truly out of this world! You've gotta get this one!

The graphics are great, it reminds me alot of Pod Racer and Wipeout XL. The main twist of this game is that you don't really steer your vehicle down the track its more like incrementally changing positions during the race; so playing Ballistics with a keyboard only is very possible. But the game can move along at a very fast pace, I mean real fast, which adds to the fun.

This is a great racing game.

an absolutely unbelieveably fun game. The fastest racing game I've ever played. Fast reflexes are required. Also don't get it if you get disoriented or dizzied easily. Otherwise for all racing fans, this game is a must buy.
