    2 out of 5 stars Guerilla Data Analysis...mis-represented   August 29, 2007
    Jon G. (Roswell GA)
This is basically a manual describing how to sort data etc...Data analysis in my mind is statistical analysis...I am very unhappy with this book...don't buy it unless you want to format tables etc...It says nothing about data analysis...

5 out of 5 stars Good book well worth its price   February 14, 2007

It's a great book that really teaches you what the title promises, in a very concise and easy to understand manner.

The author obviously has a lot of experience using the advanced tools of excel in data analysis. It's a good book for people who know the basic functions of excel inlcuing wiriting basic formula but haven't had the experience of using excel to process large amount of data. I found this book very useful and you can go through the book very quickly and really learn a lot.

I have been using Excel for years doing data analysis and charting. I found the short, easy to understand write up on Pivot tables worth the price of the book. Plus there are dozens of other tips that have already made me more productive.

2 out of 5 stars Not what I was looking for   December 29, 2003

I read the reviews on this site, and went to buy this book. After bringing it home, I found that it was not what I expected at all. The contents were for much more specialized applications, and didn't appear to apply to the average Excel user. I've used Excel for several years, and haven't had much of a need for many of these specialized tips. I found a few things here and there that may have been helpful, but not enough to justify buying the book.

(What really surprised me is that when I brought it back to the store, the fellow at the counter gave me a funny look, and asked why I was returning it. When I replied that it just wasn't what I expected, he said that I was the third person to return that same book in the last month!)
