    2 out of 5 stars Guerilla Data Analysis...mis-represented   August 29, 2007

This is basically a manual describing how to sort data etc...Data analysis in my mind is statistical analysis...I am very unhappy with this book...don't buy it unless you want to format tables etc...It says nothing about data analysis...

It's a great book that really teaches you what the title promises, in a very concise and easy to understand manner.

The author obviously has a lot of experience using the advanced tools of excel in data analysis. It's a good book for people who know the basic functions of excel inlcuing wiriting basic formula but haven't had the experience of using excel to process large amount of data. I found this book very useful and you can go through the book very quickly and really learn a lot.

I have been using Excel for years doing data analysis and charting. I found the short, easy to understand write up on Pivot tables worth the price of the book. Plus there are dozens of other tips that have already made me more productive.

if you're a looking for a book that will help you greatly in your office work and you already deal with excel on a daily basis, you don't need this book. i deal with excel everyday, using its advanced routines like the stats functions, the maths, and the database/pivottables... this book just basically sums up everything you can discover on your own by simply using excel or by scrutinizing existing templates/excel files from other advanced users. give it a pass if you think you've mastered excel somehow. (i must have read the description wrongly - because it promised "wonders"...) perhaps the other books would work better.
